Julia's Firsts

Julia's First Halloween. She was a Pirate Girl - a cute one at that.

Julia's First Birthday. All us "Vancouver Reimers" gathered at Elaine and Mikes for a wonderful birthday supper. Julia was the star of the show.

Becky came over from Victoria for the day to celebrate with us. Missie was away in Calgary.

Memere and Pepere's 50th Anniversary

We all gathered to celebrate Memere and Pepere's 50th anniversary at Karen's house.



We had a great supper and listening to stories from the past.


We put together a book of photos for Mom and Dad to celebrate their life together and their children.

Our September Vacation Week with Frank and Laurie

Frank and Laurie came down to spend a week in September for a vacation with us. Since we had just moved to the Lower Mainland we thought it would be good to spend our holiday exploring around our new home.

On a sunny day in September we headed up the Sea to Sky highway and stopped in Squamish at the Shannon Falls...
...then we continued on up towards Whistler and stopped to see the Brandy Wine Falls.

While we were at Brandy Wine Falls we stopped in the forest and had our picnic lunch on a carpet of moss. It was so beautiful.
In the afternoon we made it to Whistler and took the gondola up to the top of the mountain. I can only say that it was totally amazing. The view was stunning and the day was the BEST. We will definitely be going back to Whistler to do a bit of hiking as we got there too late in the day to do any hiking at the top of the mountain. Actually, I'd like to go have a cup of tea at the tea shop that is just a short hike from the lift top.


Since we loved Widgeon Creek Canoe Trip so much I took Frank and Laurie there also. We had a great day there.

What a great holiday all week.

Widgeon Creek Canoe Trip with Becky & Nathan

Becky and Nathan came to visit and David was showing Nathan some pointers on golfing before he and Nathan went for a round of golf. Us girls went shopping instead.
Becky had her birthday while they were visiting and we got to celebrate with her.
Then we headed out the next morning for the canoe trip along Widgeon Creek by canoe. It is out in Pitt Meadows so it wasn't far from home. We had a great time and took many rests along the way for me.



The falls are spectacular in beauty.







We were sure tired by the end of the day.

In July we stayed at Manning Park for a weekend with our friends. We had a fantastic time hiking, canoeing and just hanging out and eating great food. the scenery is fantastic and the air is so pure. It was a restful and peaceful time.
